Presentation Reflection

I feel that our presentation went extremely well and our activity proved that we are all a little bit racist. I feel that when I researched information for the presentation, I learned about how harmful racial stereotypes are to a student in an educational setting. I feel that unless racism goes away, we will always have students that will struggle in classrooms because their mind isnt on the topic of conversation and instead it is on whether or not to retaliate to the racism received in the classroom. Yet this is the problem, racism will never die out. Everyone sees different races as superior or inferior to other ones, which causes conflict between races. However, I believe that different races are a made up thing. Why can we not just look at a man and see a man instead of a white man or a black man or an Indian man? Because we label them as what they look like. This leads to stereotypes and causes alot of racial tension. In the classroom, this can be a problem. In smaller, less diverse school settings, the minority sticks out like a sore thumb. They are predjudiced against and therefore, their academic achievement suffers. In closing, I feel that no matter what, there will always be racism. No matter when, where, how, or why the human race and all of its sub-races will always be predjudice against others.
